“Strong, recognized and valued cooperation with our partners”

By ÉLÉONORE CAROIT,
Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships and French Nationals Abroad

In recent years, France has undertaken a far-reaching renewal of its international partnerships policy. The year 2026 will once again be decisive, with the Africa Forward summit and the French presidency of the G7, whose development track will seek to put forward a new approach to international cooperation: more partnership-based, more effective and more attentive to the resilience of our partners.

For more than ten years, Expertise France has embodied this drive for transformation. Its creation through the merger of six international cooperation operators, followed by its integration into AFD Group, has helped make our policy more effective. Its sustained growth also reflects our ambition: Expertise France is now the second-largest technical cooperation agency in Europe. The establishment of thirteen country directorates has strengthened the operator’s presence in the field, close to our partners. Finally, Expertise France’s capacity to mobilize European funding – nearly €400 million in 2025 – is one of the best examples of our ability to catalyze financing for sustainable development.

Congratulations to Expertise France and its teams, who are building strong, recognized and valued cooperation with our partners on every continent.
